Why me!

Last night we decided to do one of Jacks Christmas presents, you know the ones where you get to make something and in my own words 'more fun than a computer game!'

It resulted in an hour and a half of thisduring the patient waiting we played two rounds of dinosaur snap, and made six mini clay Ben 10 aliens (you can slightly see them in the right of the picture)Finally the smallest alien in the world emerged! What fun... lol

We've also had a bit of a battle on our hands this Christmas time, Tel bought me my long awaited GHD's for Christmas
from (if you can call them this) a reputable dealer of 17000+ feedback on Ebay, to find out whilst registering them, they are in fact Fake!!! We are now battling as they want the ghd's back before they refund us! and we're like 'er I don't think so, refund me then you can have them back!'
They weren't really any different in price!!! we just had a voucher to use and that's why they were purchased on Ebay. Never again...
So there we have it, a great end to 2008

Hope you have a wonderful New Year, I doubt we'll be too merry, as I'm still feeling rough on and off :(
Here's to 2009, a bigger and better year than the last :)

Huge update

Well Christmas has passed and now we're awaiting the New Year Celebrations, so far we've got through the days smoothly and relaxed as much as we can.
Christmas morning saw this and the boys very happily opening their pressiesThey got to have two opening pressie days as my parents came down on Saturday, hence Riley in his chair as he was eating at the time but was very excited at shredding more wrapping paper.

Riley loved his new bikeand is now forever climbing in it for a ride out :)

I feel a tad ill again today, just when you think your getting over the worse of it, you get something else, my throat is killing me which I dare say again is pleasing the household as I'm not talking too much!
We've sat and watched many family movies, family dog walking trips and games. Thoroughly enjoying the time off and we have lots planned for the last week off school.

Hope your Christmas was a good one and have a wonderful New Year if I dont get to post before then.

Saturday 20 December 2008

Still recovering from flu-ish symptoms and now I'm left with a barking cough! which I'd like to add is keeping me awake at night so I'm generally knackered.
Tels off work though so we toddled off to Milton Keynes on Friday just for a look round, they have a gorgeous winter wonderland show on again in the fairytale theme this year
this is my favourite
bought some gorgeous goodies for our bedroom, had lunch and that was about it really
The highlight of Friday for me was finally going to see thisAfter a few minor/major problems regarding the tickets I calmed down, had a lovely dinner with my friend and then enjoyed the movie, obviously no where near as good as the book, but all in all a great film and guess what! I'm seeing it again Sunday morning with Rosie :) Two doses of the gorgeous Robert Pattinson, how ever will I cope :)
We finished off our Christmas shopping today so only the food left to buy now, I'm feeling very organised and up to date and stress free - at the moment.

Mixed Emotions

What a day - its either filled with joy then smack me down to earth, joy - earth, joy - earth...

Riley had his Christmas party at tots today, although the flash had to be used I love these photos of him today, he pulls some of the funniest faces
Tel liked this dont know why, mind you i'm not really into photos of me, but gotta be doneMy hair appointment has turned out to be rather expensive!! I rarely go to Northampton now, and I parked in a side street, came out from the hairdressers and I had a ticket, considering a lorry was parked in front a tiny sign stating half hour parking and there was no yellow marking as it was worn out (I photographed this as proof) so not a happy bunny
Other shit but bla bla bla
Oooh Riley got his fringe cut (only his fringe will have to show that tmz) bless him.

Tell All

Is it really Tuesday already!
Emmas question this week is 'What made you laugh this past week'
Easy peasy - this
me and the boys sat down to watch this on Sunday and we all loved it, Riley was dancing around and singing, but the best for me was Julie Walters, I am a huge fan of hers and I just laughed and laughed everytime she was in it, Love her.
If you havent seen it - why not... lol it will just make you smile like alot.

How do you

do your gift wrapping?
Its Rosie's turn over on our challenge blog and we thought about gift wrapping, just some ideas thrown your way, and lets see what we get back
Heres my take, firstly I love wrapping presents in brown paper tied with ribbon or string, but to add a bit of texture to it, fold the end of the paper into a concertina and you get a lovely effect(I found this idea in a crafting magazine and am now hooked)

Secondly, so many people buy gift cards nowadays, rather than having the shops boring little card holder, make one yourself by either copying the sizes from the shop one, or do the measuring yourself (like I did)

Starting to feel a tad poorly this evening, so I'm off to chill in a lubbly bubble bath

A few bits

My craft fair was - well - wet!
It did not stop raining once and we were soaked to the skin but we still had a good time. I commissioned my friend to make me some crocheted ankle warmers :) There not quite finished but will certainly show you once they are, cause they are fab :)

With regards to a recent post I made about a new name for my Etsy Shop, I didnt realise I would get so much help, so I am really grateful, and even though I said that I would run the competition till the end of December, I have now found a name and will showcase it at the beginning of the year with all the new goodies in my store, and I will announce the winner then :)

On another crafting note, its Rosies turn for the challenge this week, so check over here later and see what she has in store for you, heres a peek at mine.

Magic Reindeer

Well he's my little magic reindeer anyway, my gorgeous man was a reindeer in the Christmas concert at school yesterday, each class either sang or danced a couple of times and the finale was 'Silent Night' which was gorgeous.Jack had the chance to speak alone in front of everyone and he did it, and boy didnt he do it well :)
Oooh look what I found on the Christmas TreeI'm off to finish all my crafty goodness for my fair tomorrow at the gorgeous Delapre Abbey in Northampton.

Grr

I'm blooming pee'd off! Tons of reasons but the feeling is defo pee'd off, but amazingly I was so wound up I got my Christmas Journal bits out and began, I've decided to go ahead with shimelle's journal again this year, as I feel tons more comfortable with scrapbooking, been wound up, head strong and over thinking I got Page's 1-4 done!!! all with the gorgeous Basic Grey Figgy pud range I'm so chuffed with my pages I'll show them over the next couple of days (blogger allowing that is!!) lots of white space and hints of patterned paper, now to keep my eyes open for a gorgeous 12x12 scrapbook purely for my journal.
Better day tomorrow :)

Tell all Tuesday

The lovely Emma's question this week is

When do you put your Christmas decorations up and how long do they stay up?

Well erm! When I was little because my birthday is the 4th I use to wake up to all the decorations and tree and kinda got use to that. As I've got older and considering I was heavily pregnant with both my boys through the Christmas period, the decs kinda got put up later and later...

I am currently (obv typing this but merely having a break) hacking at a real christmas tree! We had a few when I was a kid and I always remember treading in all the needles and not been impressed.
** Santa's grotto at Peterborough**
Our beauty of a tree at the moment is more like a bush! so my creative hands are on it and hacking the shit out of it :) A few hours later and its dec'd out lush :)
We generally keep the tree up till New Year time, then its day of packing stuff up for another year.
I would like to add I hate, cannot abide flimsy dangly shit from my ceiling! It makes me cringe I just cannot help it sorry. Emma has given me a great idea though as I'm sure Jack would love a tree in his room :) May surprise him with some goodies for that tmz.
Considering this post has taken me since tues eve to upload I'll show corners of my christmas home tmz.
Have you got your dec's up yet :)

Oh baubles

The weekend seemed to go by in such a blur, we didn't really get up to much as Tel was working Saturday, chilled out in the evening, well we tried to, Riley is really playing us up at bedtime at the moment :( so we are banging heads literally trying to sort it out.

Sunday we went and bought our very first real christmas tree, I am super excited now and just hope and pray it fits in the room - lol - Tel's picking it up after work today so we'll be decorating that tonight, cant wait.

Last Sunday was Rosies challenge and I've only just got my photo to her, so sorry :( heres my bauble, its double sided, a baby photo of each of my boysThis weeks challenge was mine and I chose to do a christmas mini book themeRosies is fab, pop on over to the challenge blog and check it out

This photo is a tad out of focus but I dont care, this is Riley the majority of the time, before the screaming starts, aint he a gorgeous little fella :)

Ho Ho Ho

Today was our Christmas Shopping trip (mine and Cazz's that is), we started our day off all excited with a chrimbo cd in the car heading our way down/across to Spalding, gets there and ... umm, wasnt what we expected!
We begain in Costa - obviously - my gorgeous ickle fella came along with us and he was brilliant, considering he spent most of the day sitting down he didnt moan once :)After walking around what seemed like 'THE' hottest ever garden centre on the planet earth, we toddled around some other shops to come across a gorgeous gathering of ducksnow I wouldnt mention this normally (as I am a magnet for this kind of thing) but seems as Cazz (my dearest friend I believed) has posted it all over facebook! I may as well state it here, what truly happened.

I thought to myself what lovely ducks, 'look Riley, look at the lovely ducks, Mummy shall take a picture of them'

As I bent down to get in closer (as instructed by the lovely Kirsty - who I may never forgive for that instruction) I felt 'something' at my rear end! yes this pesky little fella pecked my arse (to be frank) I laughed, Cazz wet herself and some women we didnt even know chuckled for awhile!!!
I was considering having Duck for christmas rather than the traditional turkey but it can sod off now :)

Another suggestion for the day made was as we were chrimbo shopping lets be festive, so we wore these all day - yes - ALL DAY - lol
We left Spalding and headed for Peterborough and got cracking full on with the pressies, a great day had by all, am shattered and back is sore as sore can be now x

Thursday 4 December 2008

Thank you

I've had lots of messages on here and on facebook wishing me a lovely birthday so thank you thank you thank you..
Sadly as you get older and you have kids your birthday kinda goes on the back burner sometimes dont you agree!
I've done the general mundane household tasks today, had coffee with friends, and a beavers committee meeting!
I've had some lovely pressies throughout the day though, some of which I'll have to photograph tmz now.

Tickets are booked to go and see this on the 19th December - woo hoo
Thisanimal panties!!! dont ask, my 'main' birthday gift off my best mate is coming at Christmas!! God only knows... lol Rosie popped over with a box full of crafting goodness this evening which was just lovely :)
and a beautiful Orchid which I will try to photograph tmz!
Off Chrimbo shopping tmz, quite excited about it actually, gonna go through the winter wonderland walk and take Riley to see Santa!! Ummm I can see the traditional kid screaming at Santa photo coming up! lol

Need Help!

I have closed my Etsy store until the New Year where there will be lots of gorgeous (if I say so myself) altered art and paper crafted goodies to purchase :)

I am going to rename my ickle shop but I just cannot think of a groovy funky 'quirky' enough name for it.
So here is a challenge which will run all throughout December, suggest a name for my shop by emailing me here and at the beginning of January I will pick the best suited name and send a lovely box of goodies to the winner full of lovely jubbly bits and pieces.
A few bits about myself which may help with your name decision, apparently I'm quirky!! If I get my hands on it - I'll alter it (hence all the jars under the sink cupboard), I love paint, I never stop! and I love patterned paper so much that I could sit and sniff it all day long, especially if its 'My minds eye'!!! I will place a link to this post at the top of my blog so you can enter as many times as you like.
Please help me :) xx

Wednesday 3 December 2008

Um

well whilst writing this I'm 28 mins off been 34!!! Wow how the years have flown by...
More of that tomorrow tho :)

I still need to find a break in the daylight and crap light to take my photo for our challenge blog!!! My bauble is all ready and waiting Rosie!!! Daylight is failing me..

Over at Paper Craft Junkies we're hosting a Christmas fat page swop, so's at the end of it we get a lovely chrimbo mini book of each others creations. Mine all went in the post today with a few little extras tooAlso winging there way is a commissioned order for 4 bridesmaids cards, hope she likes themToday I looked after my mates daughter as she was poorly this morning so couldnt go to school, so after she'd done a bit of homework, I was at the crafting (dining) table and asked her if she'd like to join me, yay, so we made two very different tree decorations, which I'll show here tmz.

oooh only ten mins left, better go get me last 33 year old beauty sleep x

Eek

Well before its officially the 2nd I shall quickly bid a huge welcome to the 1st December :)
I love December, not only because its my birthday month, but its christmas month and its the month we all wait with anticipated breath as to whether its going to SNOW or now!
I love Snow, like alot, I like wrapping up in huge chunky (quirky - private joke!) layers and making angels in the snow ;) ~ dont you ~ ;)*obviously not my angel as we never get enough blooming snow to do one that good! thanks again to google*

Today has been a mixture of feelings
A high as I spent the morning in Jacks school on art and craft day, getting covered in glitter and glue, and then having a scared moment when I realised the kids only wanted me to go in the playground so they could chase me down! I decided for the coffee route at that point!

A low with banking errors - curse the goddam banking here!!!!

A low cause the book sale was ~well ~ crap!

and a huge high after I checked Jacks book bag and noticed that he is now a Free Reader, I squealed with delight :) bless my little monster he has just shot up recently and its gone so quick and I feel like I'm missing it.

In Art and Craft today he was glitter glue mad, so I questioned him about this, his reply
'Well it is Christmas Mummy'
What kind of a reply could I give to that, I just looked at his teacher and smiled, lol.

Cazz and I have a very exciting christmas shopping trip planned for Friday here, lots of latte breaks I believe :)
Oooh and did I mention that we've booked tickets for June to see these
we are sooo excited already, lol, which is quite funny considering I didnt really like them when they were out the first time, but they have defo matured well!! lol

What a Weekend!

Friday night saw the evening reception to the lubbly Steph and Lee's Wedding, she wore the most gorgeous purple dress I have ever seen
Here she is eating the 'nuts' but sod that, look at the bloody dress :)The lubbly coupleA huge congratulations to you both

Although I was in no fit state to remember the end of the evening! All I can say is that that wine must have a) been very strong % and b) spiked or c) I just had too much and I shall never let the stuff pass my lips again!Because somehow I came home with brides tiara on my head and the table flowers!!!!!!!!! I assure you Steph they are both very safe :)

**All photos courtesy of Cazzs facebook - I bloody hate facebook!!! she gets the worse ones of me on there all the time!!! - I'm damned certain she edits her own!**

So no joke I spent ALL DAY Saturday very ill in my dressing gown, did I mention very ill, I'm not lying :(
Sunday was spent with Tel nursing a hangover!!! We wont even go there and today as in Monday is a busy one with Jacks art and craft day at school, and me supposed to be doing Usborne books at a local library!
