Rosie Dee's Week 50

Still on the holiday theme over at Rosie Dee's here's a peek at what I created
Why dont you pop on over here to see what the challenge is and join in with us

My Craft Space

Its finally here, my craft space, there are still a few tweeks to be done like shelving on the walls and boxing in pipes etc but the main storage and desk area is sorted out :)
I've also done a short post over on Its a creative world to share storage ideas.
After much searching for storage to fit in the tiny alcove, the trofast has come up trumps :) and with a mixture of shelving and buckets its just ideal for my needs, I bought two of these and this is the first one :) housing my albums, tools and embellishements.
Oooh and one very bright pink wall :) LUSH...
Trofast number two holds all my shop goodies and craft books, and of course my pretty little sock monkey :)
My desk area is just perfect for me, I'm sure when cazz pops over by taking the printer off she'll be able to squeeze on :) The shelving and racking will be going on this wall :)

I could not resist these metal drawers, they also came in a gorgeous bright red but as much as I wanted those I knew they wouldnt match up :( I have all my fabric, felt and sewing essentials in these :)

and last but not least my buttons are currently in a bucket under the desk until the shelving goes up, but to be honest I love them here as theres nothing better than a good route round :)

Hope you've enjoyed my little craft space :)

Time Travellers Wife

Last night Cazz and I went to see this film, first we nipped and stuffed ourselves with a 3 course meal, then waddled up to the cinema to try and walk off the extra dessert!!!!! (it didnt work)
Of course it wouldnt a night out without something happening to either of us, but I promise you Cazz, the toilet episode will stay with me for life ;) x

Anyways onto the movie, I'd never heard of it until Cazz said to go see it, I watched the trailer and thought 'yeah okay' So it was okay! a bit slow in places and very teary in 'a' certain place, but I have to go and get the book as we both agreed that its just going to be so much better.

One more thing we agreed on!

ThatEric Bana looked hot! :)

The Quirky Crafts Forum is having a bit of a makeover, on the inside that is and I have no blooming idea how to do it on the outside but I am researching :) using my 1% knowledge of html i'm sure I'll get there in say 2050!
Anyways our weekly challenges are back on from the 6th September with small handcrafted prizes for the winning crafty goodness taking part :)

We have two new design team members (who I will give a huge reception to in the Lounge) and I'm on the look out for maybe a couple more so if your interested in playing along weekly please contact me here for details
We are still a new and small forum but with everyones help and more more crafty goodness going on we can become a more involved crafting group :)

Wow

I'm excited again!
I mentioned awhile ago that we were in a car accident and the insurance company decided to write our car off :( well we love our old bmw and were searching for another one, I had my list of requirements and he had his 'boys' head on, but luckily a super duper car came onto Ebay, and well, the rest is history, this car was obviously meant to be ours :)

Tel picked it up from Derby today (a few obvious things that need sorting out) but I'm in love with my new car already :)
Tel will be very proud of me if I point out the M3 bodykit and the Schnitzer rims!!! :)
Talking of other proud moments, our trip to Ikea was a success and a laugh and a half, will update with photos later :)

Thursday - Allotment, weather is suppose to be good for then so hopefully I will be up there all day :) (nipping home to loo tho as there isnt one up there and there's no way i'm squating not with the amount of bugs up there - yuk lol)

Craft Table 2!

Umm remember my post here about the girls craft table, well Cazz came round Saturday night and we did have a laugh and craft the night away, yes literally until 2.30 in the morning!!!Now the deal is I always sit in the middle and Cazz always sits on the end! and then she laughs about not having much room! oh well lol
I'm off to get my new table on Wednesday and I will no longer be a dining table crafter after that! woo hoo how exciting :)

New Baby Girl

A friend of ours have had a new baby girl so when Cazz came round to craft on Saturday night I worked on their pressie.

Now yes there is a photo missing but thats because I dont have one as of yet! and the layout is going in a frame also

I used pink chalk to rub over a doilie to get the pattern effect and I was pretty pleased with the end result.

Materials used - Imaginisce papers, buttons from stash, glitter alpha stickers from Colemans

Golden Oldies

Hmmm I've found a few photos that made me giggle!

This is me on my 7th birthday with my Mum just before all the party guests arrive, its at the beginning of December but I always woke up to the christmas tree which was great :) Although I really dont think I shall comment positively on the hair style ;)
We use to visit my Grandad alot down in Portsmouth, he use to drive the coaches back then and we had a great time
**funny how family changes though isnt it!! the girl in the pink dress is my cousin, we dont speak! well they say you can pick your friends and not your family dont they!**

What a cork-er!!!!

Wicket has finally graced his first mini book, and I just couldnt resist this. Its a fabulous cork mini book available in a square and flower shape at Indigo Mill

Love That

I love to recycle items where I can and I decided to use a bit of ripped card that I'd got in some packaging but kept 'just in case'

I really enjoyed creating this layout, I saw a similar one in a sketch book and had to scraplift it but for the life of me I cannot find the paper where I wrote the details to give that person credit, so I do apologise about that!
Materials used - ripped cardboard, scraps of patterned paper, handcrafted embellishments, odds and ends :) the crochet flower was kindly made my Rosie :) gorgeous isnt it
I after everyone positive response to this layout it most certainly is on my list for a class at the crop

Hmmm

You know when your not happy with a layout 100%, well this is one of them, I just feel it is wrong, I as you are aware, do white space mainly and I think everytime I look at this because I dont see a 'space' its annoying me.
So I do believe that you may see this again very soon looking a little different.

Materials used - patterned papers from the Indigo Mill August kit 'A beautiful life', all other embellishments are from my stash.
Yes you will most certainly be seeing this again, I plan on attacking it at the weekend!

Thursday 20 August 2009

Have your CAKE

and eat it!!!
Well not the cake toppers though, not when they are this great :)
I made a layout at the weekend of my best mates wedding cake toppers cause they are just so much fun to look at and they deserved to be remembered :)
Materials used - pink cardstock from stash, basic grey chipboard alphas, patterned papers from the Indigo Mill August Kit 'A beautiful life', bling from stash and white gel pen for doodling
Lots more to show so pop back again soon :)

Willow Sketchie

A new sketch and a new download over at Willow Sketchie this weekWhat I love most about the downloads is that they come blank or filled in with beautiful colours, so you get the best of both worlds, so i decided to use both today. A very neutral card but love the flash of red and green sock :)

Materials - white cardstock, basic grey papers, ribbon from stash, basic grey rub ons and willow download available here

Also worth popping over as Sharon has the bestest new blinkies for your blog :)

Craft Table

So when you get together with the girls what does your craft table end up looking like!!!Hmmm I think there's more food than crafts on this one
I'm scrapping with Cazz on Friday night will have to take a pic to compare ;)
Link me up to your craft table whether alone or with friends :) be great to see what your up to.

Wednesday 19 August 2009

Hmmm

You know when your just not quite happy with something, you know the layout is all wrong! Well last night I re-sorted out my little on-line stores as they just felt 'wrong'.
You do get me dont you? dont you!!

Right well all of my felt, crochet and bead (yep a new thing there on the table) will be in my Etsy and Not On The High Street Stores

My vintage and new button and ribbon sets are still here
All of my paper goodies that are one off, or little kits, money bags etc will be in my Folksy Store**click pictures for relevant stores**

I feel much more yin and yang now :)
I'm off to Ikea next week with my best buddy I cannot wait, that is the shopping trip that will finish my craft room :)

Memories

I have a really special war photo of my Uncle Bill that is really precious to me and I wanted to scrap it so badly but just knew that I wouldn't be able to do it justice.

So after meeting up with the girls at the weekend, I asked the wonderful Clare (aka Silver Custard) if she would scrap it for me, considering she is vintage queen goddess I knew she would work her magic and practically make me cry with the finished piece.
Where this girl gets her ideas and creative spark from I dont know, but I want her to bag me some, she is truly amazing, you can see her work here

This kit 'The Beautiful Life' is currently available at Indigo Mill

Super Duper!!!

A trip to the allotment was fun today, especially making a discovery. Firstly though my pumpkins have gone wild!! lol and are everywhere...
and my courgettes are well like marrows!
Sadly though the box fell out of the boot of my car and one broke
but that doesnt matter, I have another one :) **insert hysterical laugh at size of said courgette**

ECP Sketch & Create

Over on the new Easy Craft Projects forum, the lovely DT member Katie has drawn up a sketch for you to create from, and Lisa has offered up some sketch candy too :)

Pop on over and have a play, here's my take on the sketch
I used a camper kit I purchased from Red Velvet Art, I wont say too much about this kit as I may go off on one!!! but let me just say that there customer service skills need to be - well - in place!!!!
The kit isnt exactly what I thought it would be! How flimsy photocopier paper can be called patterned paper is beyond me!! but hey ho we all learn by our mistakes and as much as I enjoy Elsies blog and adore her style I just wont be purchasing anything again!
