I remember Sarah Kay from my childhood and I remember having some pretty posters on my wall and a pot pourri holder :)

This is my most favourite image and I'm saving my pennies to purchase an embroidery kit of her - Julie and the chicks
Whilst browsing Ebay the other night, I bagged myself a few bargains, I just had to have them, and yes a collection has now begun

A gorgeous miniature Sarah Kay plate is the first of many
I'll show you more as and when my collection grows :)

If we stay here or move house, in my craft room I'm going to have dedicated space for my precious new collection

Pretty Glass

I am so into coloured glass at the moment, I'm sure I've mentioned that at some point! I'm waiting for either a shelf to be put up in my craft room so I can show them off, or I'm waiting for us to move house before I bother to unpack them! I cant quite decide, in the meantime I bagged these whilst at MumsThe green vase was from Mums 'Salvation Army' charity shop that she volunteers for (it cost an amazing 10p) and the two mini glasses were my familys and are very retro dont you think :)

Scrubbies

After playing around with patterns for some time, I tried a few more out whilst at my parents house this week and finally settled on this oneOther patterns I've tried just didnt seem right for me if you know what I meanThese are my NEW organic cotton face scrubbies that are exclusive to my Not on the high street shop here more colours to follow
These really are gorgeous to use on your face or even for baby in the bath :)

Whilst at my parents there was no internet and I forgot the charger for my mobile phone too, so I had plenty of me time, listening to the radio in the evenings and 'hooking' away
This is for me, its quite an easy scarf to make and hopefully should be finished very soon, although if I'm thinking of doing crochet scarves for christmas presents I think I better start now! lol

Homeward Bound

Me and the boys went away for a few days to chill at Nannys, Pop Pops and Megans (well pepe as Riley calls her!!), and we did exactly that, chill :)
Thats the good thing about your parents living near the seaside I guess, obviously too cold to go there this time but the air is so different and refreshing its just good for the break and to catch up with the local village goss!

Whilst driving home today we were hit by snow, and its still snowing and settling now! so I wonder what we'll wake up too tomorrow

Trying to get these three to look at the camera at the same time is a joke! so this will have to make do, I'm so gonna use these mock polaroids on some scrapbook projects me thinks :)

I have some crafty items to show you tomorrow x

offcuts!

Now I know I like my white space but ....

Even I'm giggling at this one lol

Last night after the dust had settled in my craft room after the big sort out, I had a box of cardstock offcuts and set to work, using only these and the odd embellishment, they were super quick and you know what, I enjoyed making them lots :)

Are you using up your stash :)

Friday 12 February 2010

uP aNd dOwN

Do you have those days where your mood goes up and down up and down! I'm having one of those today :(

I have managed to strip my craft room back to the bare basics and redesign where everything goes :)
I am dreading it though, if we move house and I dont have a dedicated craft space! It just cant happen can it - can it!
I posted some fun photos on my Twitpic today of the mess in my small crafty space lol obviously it was during the big clean up lol you can see them here

Another album is in my Etsy Store, this ones all floral :)

I've sat and made a few cards tonight with the scraps of cardstock I found so I'll show those tomorrow :)

Enjoy your Friday evening, I've just caught up on the third episode of Vampire Diaries, and I'm officially loving it x

Thursday 11 February 2010

Wowsers

what an evening, I took one look at my patterned papers box tonight (I have the ikea trofast system so imagine its a very big box) and thought what a mess, I think I'll tidy that - 2 hours later!!!!
  • I found stuff I forgot I had :)

  • I found stuff I know I will never use again so all packaged up for my neice who will get that lot of goodies next week :)

  • I found more full 12x12 sheets and will take them to crop with me on Sunday and sell for 20p each :)

  • I now rather than having bits here and there have - papers for projects (like mini books I've started and JYC) together and labelled, odd papers together, sets like basic grey together, templates etc... the list goes on but I now feel very motivated :)

  • oooh and a huge bag for the rubbish bin too

  • and finally lovely small bits of papers which are great for punches etc (even though I so badly need to invest in more) in some boxes (which were from christmas presents so i've even being recycling too) :)

Hows that for an evening then eh!!!!

Just to leave you with something pretty, I made this album for my Etsy Store and its already sold :) soooo pretty so I'm not surprised really

oh and the house we were going to buy (the whole reason we put our house on the market) sold today! oh well it was never meant to be, I found my dream home today :) so just waiting for a buyer for us before I get my hopes up

Night night and thanks for popping by

Willow Sketchie

The challenge is on today and it was my turn to draw the sketch
I used the sketch as the central part of the card rather than the whole card (dont you just love how versatile sketches are)
I was a little upset with myself because I used sepia and clear glossy accents and they kinda ran :(

Materials used alfie and the birdhouse patterned papers (available here) corrugated card, ribbons and buttons from stash
I used glossy accents and clear stickles to highlight alfie, something different I thought

Pop on over and join in with us, theres a free download up for grabs

Production Line

Today I sat in my craft room for a while doing nothing but thinking!
I start something I put it down unfinished and its so annoying (well it got to me today anyways!) so I looked around, and so as not to stress myself I'm starting a production line, with obvious 'have to do that first or else' then onto the small things then the larger things :)

Honestly in my head its all working out :
  • So far today I can cross off finishing putting the mini kits together and the 'Valentines' surprises (dont you just love running a crop cause you can come up with all fun things to do - hehehe)

  • Application form safely in envelope and will be posted first thing tomorrow!

  • Design Card done! (not my most fav card but I kinda lost my mojo but I have to go with it now :( as I ran out of time to do anything else)

  • Some freebie magazine stuff that I will never use has being given to my lovely elderly neighbour :)

  • Other freebie magazine stuff has been made into cards for my Mums WI group (only one more batch to do and then finito - well for now)

  • Stamp designs (yes you heard right, a whole 6 months I've had these babies lying around on paper and in my head, but they are finally going to be born!)

Doesnt sound like much but believe me all that, takes up way too much :) Slowly I will get through my list and a huge thanks for all the lovely comments on my mini book basket, one has being taken out and will be worked on tomorrow :) so will show very soon

Until then I'll leave you with thisa new range of one off albums available in my Etsy store here

Wednesday 10 February 2010

Last night I was finishing putting the mini kits together I'm doing at my crop on Sunday

Pop on over to Julias and see everyone else creative spaces :) Its fun looking around :) see you over here
