Quirky Crafts Reveal

We all find it difficult to create a male card - why is that - so why dont you join in so we can inspire each other :)

Materials used, all cardstock from my scrap box and my rubber stamped image which I cannot for the life of me remember who is by (its now packed you see! lol)

What a day!

Yesterday started off like this - a fab fresh air time in the park for me and Riley

The mood drastically changed for me thanks to the tax credits system (I wont bore you with the details but to say that a stupid mistake made by them is causing me ALOT of upset is an understatement)

Which led to another crappy letter from Tels work and the day just carried on from that really!

Todays being okay so far, until I nearly set it on fire! I misread the oven instructions on the fimo packet, all I saw was 230!!! not realising until about 20 minutes later that it should have being 110c eek... the house was filled with a lot of smoke for quite some time!!! gotta laugh aint ya lol

Hopefully the weekend will be better for us :)

Summer Fruits Cobbler

I made this tonight and thought it was blooming gorgeous and so quick to make so thought I'd share it with you

Summer Fruits Cobbler

I got the recipe off the back of the frozen fruits box from Tesco (just in case anyone was wondering lol)

Cooking Time 20-25 minutes

Base Ingredients

500g summer fruits (I used a Tesco frozen pack)

120g sugar

1tsp plain flour

Topping Ingredients

100ml milk

260g plain flour

2tsp sugar

2tsp baking powder

pinch salt

150g butter - melted

Base

preheat oven to 220c/400f/gas mark 6

In a large bowl mix together the summer fruits, sugar and flour

Place in an ovenproof dish - approx 9 x 2 " deep

Topping

In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt

Add butter and milk stirring just enough to form a dough

Drop tablespoons of dough on top of the summer fruits

Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes

Serve warm with ice cream - DeLiCiOuS

Good Morning Wednesday, are you really here already!

I have a busy week finishing off my wholesale order for coasters!

Hence my desk is full of wool and piles of coasters

I've made some fun hair accessories for my troll! cause i'm daft like that, will share soon, i'm on the search for more, I loved them when I was younger and I love them again now! lol

Just give you some more eye candy, thought I'd share some crazy bargains I picked up recently at a craft fair, I managed to bag these two gorgeous baskets for £1 each!!!! and they were full of decorated plastic eggs too - bargain or what!Right I'm off, Wicket has an appointment at the groomers today, he soooo needs it, I'm nursing poor Riley who has somehow got impetigo, its awful and all behind his ear, the little tike wont take his medicine so i'm calling the doctors again to see if they will re-prescibe me some cream instead! Have to get past the receptionist first which is a feat in itself!

What a 'cube' idea

I actually found time at the crop (even through the stress of a football team walking through constantly for two hours and taking over the kitchen - hence change of venue!) to create
I love this cube and was so desperate to do something with itI used photos of Jack from various activities that he's done, I'm certainly going to make one for Riley now too

Materials used were 3 bugs in a rug memory box, crate papers and die cuts, october afternoon night light stickers, black sharpie journalling pen

I have three of these memory boxes available for £4 delivered if anyone is interested, they come flat packed ready for you to create with them :)

I gave all the crop peeps a temple for the fan and it will be great to see what they come up, its perfect for a set of photos that you want to scrapI used a set of photos from our heavy snowfall last yearMaterials used were Love Elsie papers from scrap box, white journalling pen, black sharpie for adding borders to photos, jumbo brad and a chipboard alpha

My craft space hasnt really resembled much the last couple of weeks, and yep theres no difference again this week!

I decorated a cube with gorgeous crate papers and gave peeps at the crop a fan template for a mini album (need to photo these) so thats all thats really crafty on my desk today

So I thought I'd show the rest of the untidy mess (honest its not normally this bad) I'm in the middle of packing and then I have to unpack because I need something! arghhhhhh lol
Top shelf is for my wools and crochet goodies, and I've got the giveaway goodies stored up there too, green bucket is all my little tools like my glue gun, stapers, bia wires etc, and the white bucket is all my embellishments, the big bucket is my chipboard bit (I *heart* chipboard)
underneath is my printer and a pink box full of my 12x12 papers
Thats about it really, I'm busy with crochet designs at the moment, and I'm feeling totally inspired by my new crop venue so have a list of things to do :) Cant wait till the next one now

New Crop Venue

After a few things happening that have annoyed me to say the least at the current venue, I have now found somewhere else for my crop to take place.

I'm so pleased, it was my initial place in mind but they couldnt accomodate us on a Sunday, so we've had a day change also, the second Saturday every month.
We are now going to craft our hearts away in a gorgeous village hall surrounded by gorgeous cottages, a local church and greeneryIn the summer time we can have a picnic on the lawn and *sigh* well i'm sold :)

QC Challenge Update

Theres still another week to join in with us over at Quirky Crafts challenges, we have a fabulous sketch by the lovely Lynhere is my take on it

Materials used - cupcake digi download by Limited Runs, corrugated card and ribbon from stash, basic grey brads, honey and hugs embossed rub on sentiments and aqua pro-markers

Something nice and bright, I made this for Mothers Day which I havent got round to showing you just yet, its a card and choccy holder in one :) Mum loved it...Hmmm I have a busy weekend ahead of me, some planned some not so planned!

Sunday I have my monthly crop so need to get baking and sorting out the lunches for that, I have a class in mind for peeps to use their own stash but come away with a fun fan! and a possible banner!

Today (as in Saturday) the car has to go into the garage as it scared me half to death yesterday as I thought something had dropped off it the noise it was making! :( Did I ever mention how much I love my ole car :)

I have to go shopping for wool supplies after having a large wholesale order for crochet cup coasters and I need to fit in the daily stuff too! cleaning, bathing, rabbit cleaning, dog walking and oh yes I want to find some Lottie time - please

I totally missed it yesterday, I shall not say forgotten (cough) but thought I'd hang my head in darn shame at the state of my so called crafting area of heaven!

I have no excuses because I have actually being crafting on that space! how I dont know other than I do remember just nudging stuff out of the way!

Do you remember decoupage! from the days when you first start out :) Well you can see a bit of dreamtide on the table (thats the mermaid) basically I have folders full of it for my craft group shop and any craft fairs that I attend (or possible market stalls - currently looking into that) and I'm trying to use said decoupage and incorporate my scrapbooking supplies to show people how versatile they really can be :) WELL thats my plan and i'm gonna stick with it!

I've packed a bunch of my stamping supplies away too, and kept out the inks I use for distressing (note I will be doing various distressing tutorials and downloads for my blog and forum soon so check back)

I currently have a very poorly sick little toddler at home and he has finally fallen asleep for a nap after covering me for the third time in sick :( bless him

Crafting Decisions

I've made some big crafting decisions over the last few weeks for many different reasons, one major one that we will be moving house very soon which will leave me with a huge gap of no crafting and I dont want to let anyone down.

It takes up alot of time running the Quirky Crafts Forum and challenge blog so I'm having to stretch my spare time as it is, and I need to concentrate and focus lots on Quirky Boots if I want my handcrafted 'dream' job to happen

With all that taken into account I have very very sadly stepped down from being on the Willow Designs and Its a creative world design teams

I really am sad to go but I just couldnt put my all in and reach deadlines which isnt fair on anyone

Please remember though that Willow Designs delivers a fantastic weekly sketch with their design team and Its a creative world offer you daily crafting inspiration in all forms

The Forum

Over on Quirky Crafts Forum theres always something going on, and the lovely Anne has set another ATC Swap with a spring themeand the lovely Paula has started a play it forward with recipe cards, I'm keeping my recipe designs simple so I can make them quickly

Honey and Hugs Fiskarettes

I got these really cute papers free for subscribing to Crafts Beautiful, so I'm building up a collection of general cards with them for myself and my local nursery who currently have a basket of my cards for sale

So anyhoos the current challenge over on Fiskarettes is 'distressed' so I've added these two charming cards to that, lightly distressed with my distressing happy scissors :)
