Arm Lists

Thats lists the lengths of my arms! both of them...

 I need extra arms but I managing to organise myself quite well considering, I have lists for

• the shop - everything thats still to be done ready for opening in two weeks time!!! eek

• the home - the kitchen is nearly finished only the wall and floor tiles, skirting etc to be done now, but I finally have a working kitchen is super brilliant, whilst I am currently taking up the laminate to make way for the floor tiles, the laminate is going to be re used for the shop flooring
• the garden - so much is in bloom, there is also so many weeds, the weather has really held us back with doing the simplist things, I managed to mow the front lawn yesterday but it was still super wet so quite difficult to mow 
• quirky boots - i have a new website in the making, new ideas just for the shop, not on the high street and kits, yes my diy kits are finally back on the to do list, I'm just awaiting my stickers from a fantastic graphic designer friend, I'll share them and her once I have them
  Another friend of mine has started her own stamp design business I have a nice little collection from her now, will share another day
• the family - after school today we are off to kids play, a huge indoor play area, hopefully will tire the boys out! but I doubt it. Riley has been up and down this week with behaviour at the moment he's adorable, helping me to cook dinner each evening, and been really good at listening. Jack is out and about playing round a friends house or in the garden playing football, its scary how quick he's growing up
• I still have my felt food patterns to share with you but I seem to have misplaced my camera lead hence the hold up - they will be worth it I promise even just for the fun factor

 I finally found the kitchen canisters I wanted, love the fact there made of tin so kind of retro but still modern

awol !!!

yep i have been absent without leave! how did that happen!
so much going on  here right now all for the greater good I promise but in so many different avenues that I'm getting a little bombarded by it all!

to the point i've put slimming world on the back burner for a few weeks until we get the kitchen sorted because its kinda stressing me out having it working one minute and not the next! so the stress isnt helping my ibs or my eating healthily regime!
we are very quickly getting there though, the walls will be painted by the end of the week so the top cupboards will be back up too, *sigh* i so cannot wait

our little one had an eeg to follow up from his spurt in hospital a few weeks ago, so now we are awaiting his results from that, his behaviour has increased this week by quite an amount which sometimes is quite upsetting and tiring but the great distraction technique works - well, sometimes!

i made some planting decisions for the garden

especially after buying this lovely lot from our market at the weekend, a mix of lovely herbs and border plants, I already know where there going, now I just need the rain to hold off so I can plant them!

fathers day was a quiet affair, a little walk around the car boot until the heavens opened then home to sort little mans bike out

obviously lots more going on, but I'll be here all day explaining the good the bad and the ugly, so I'll be back soon x

patterns...

Throughout June I'm going to be sharing some felt food patterns here on my blog. I dont know about you but my little one loves play food so I thought I'd make him a special selection, so I thought I share it with you also - Check back next week for the first instalment x

today is another very wet and miserable day, i'm kinda starting to feel boxed in now! riley has a super cough so the last thing i want is for him to be poorly again so out in the rain is not an option!
we did have a lunch date with my friend today, riley made pizza

I cuddled her cockerpoos alot, they are totally adorable, totally! did i say totally already! well they totally are!

then it was home to more rain again! so we built a den for something different to happen in our living room, first it was a mini den, the big bro wanted in so we had to build an extension so he'd fit

we have the plasterer back here again this evening finishing off the kitchen walls then at the weekend i'm going to choose the paint *sigh* so looking forward to that! then my wall cupboards can go back in place and then my dining room will be back to normal again! *amazing how doing one thing can quite practically affect the whole house!*

oh my gawd!

were the words from my little one when he saw the downpour of rain that we had today, came down in bucket loads, stopped then done it all over again! nightmare
we've had an in house day today with a visit from a lovely friend and yep more cleaning oh and a plasterer! the kitchen is slowly coming together!

tomorrow i'm off to my lovely friends house for lunch with the boys, cant wait, homemade pizza and banana loaf, i'm going armed with my camera as her garden is lush and I want to steal some ideas, oh and her pooches are to die for!

Cleaning!

I spent my day yesterday brick dust cleaning! its a total nightmare and I thought I'd got past all that, but this week we had cavity wall insulation put into our home and because we have a conservatory they did it from within there on certain parts of the wall! so as you can imagine the brick dust came again!

So I moved everything out, swept and scrubbed that floor, those doors and windows clean! then moved back only what was going in there!

The pooch just follows me wherever I go! He really needs a haircut!

This little fella made me jump whilst I was supping tea in my chair! I heard a snoring sound and the net moved! Its okay it was only Apollo!

I was super tired by the end of the day but a cuppa with a friend soon woke me up x

church chairs - for sale!

I thought i'd mention it on here as I know alot of you who read my blog have the same interests as me

So if anyone who lives locally to me (northamptonshire) and are after some church chairs I have two for sale £15 for the pair, please just message me if your interested as they are taking up room and we no longer use them

The boys used them under their wooden school desk but we no longer have that x

I couldnt do it, it didnt feel right, it didnt feel like my blog!!!
I've reverted back to been quite simply known as 'Quirky Boots' cause thats me you know :)

Fridge Cake

Mmmmm today I made chocolate fridge cake for the first time! why havent I made it before its delicious and super filling I only tasted a little as on a 'healthy regime' at the moment!
I used the Hummingbird Bakerys recipe, it was super simple to make

I basically used cocoa (use a good brand mine is bournville) unsalted butter, golden syrup, digestive biscuits and raisins, I also added glace cherries too

I halved the recipe and it still made too much so i'll be sharing this with friends tomorrow

I've done a batch of gift tags ready for the shop

and i've got quite a few odd tea cups from sets that i've collected so i'm creating a few of these for the shop too

Emails are coming back with people interested in selling with us which is super exciting

I'm currently enjoying a lovely and very relaxed few days at home :) i've managed to find some time to make up a batch of fun felt badges/brooches which I cant wait to share with everyone

The Jubilee

I havent really mentioned anything about it, just because I think everyone else is talking about it so I dont feel I have anything else to add!
We had planned on having a street party but the council wanted a ridiculous amount of money to close off our road so we had to cancel those plans sadly. Man of the house is working all weekend and the bank holiday days as the job has to be finished by Wednesday so its just me and the boys at home.

Sunday I'm going to make a nice roast dinner with a victoria sponge for afters with a patriotic bunting I've created especially and then I dare say we'll sit down and watch the jubilee concert as there are some amazing acts I cant wait to see, artist impression from the telegraph online
