Many hours spent!

Sometimes projects take longer than expected!
I started to decopatch a chair some time ago and then it got left whilst our kitchen diner was been renovated

At the weekend I started it again and finally I finished it today, I would say all in all which includes cleaning and decopatching it took approx 10 hours! soooo long but so worth it

 I now have a vintage chair I started so whilst I'm in the zone I'll be cracking on with that too
This is going to go for sale in my shop, I'll certainly be sad to see it go if it sells x

embroideries

Ive been sewing a little recently and created these fun embroideries

I've had lots of fun and cant wait to make another batch

Button Tags

What do you do with a load of vintage buttons! sew them onto kraft tags thats what!

There so simple to create, place your buttons where you'd like them to go on your tag, using a sharp point make a mark through the button holes, remember where the buttons are to go and slide them off your tag, put the sharp point through the marks to make the initial holes, using some sewing thread and a needle sew your buttons on your tags
and ta-da

Then use them as a gift tag for button loving friends presents or its a great way to have a destash of your button collection

Changes a foot!

Things are slightly changing around here, for a week now we've been waiting for the news and finally today it was answered!
As from today my partner was made redundant so we are in a position of him been unemployed, but for how long who knows! He's already getting job offers so fingers crossed it wont be for too long!
Knowing how the recession is hitting everyone we are just hoping for a great job offer to come his way

Whilst waiting for the news today I went cleaning crazy and blitzed downstairs to within an inch of its life!

After moving sofas and furniture, so I'm totally pooped! but having one last cuppa before I retire to bed
This kind of makes it sound like I dont blitz but I do, quite often actually, but today was good as it kept me busy and head clear and the sun shining the windows really helped too

I've moved all of my little boys crayons and colouring books into a wicker basket as its one of his main outlets at the moment, one of the jobs I tackled was the darn crayon box!
I was quite drawn in by how colourful and pretty the shavings were

and how fun they looked lined up

So thats our big changing news, I have my 'home' head on so next on the list is upstairs and the conservatory!

Craft Day

The monthly craft girlie sessions are back on (cancelled last month due to the snow)
I took along my decopatch chair to attempt to finish!

We had homemade soup, and from the pantry next door to our little shop we had fresh croutons and GI bread
The girls attempted some crafting too!

 Cant wait for next month already!

Market Day

Today saw market day, the first one for 2013

Michelle and I were also gap filling this month with a little selection of our makes, Michelle bought along these goodies from her Button It designs

and I bought along a few things to offer up in a Quirky Boots sale

Then I relaxed when I got home

Cake Buntings

I've spent some of today sorting out my new cake bunting colours and styles!
Lots of new felt colours

Some limited cath kidston colours

 Some limited mini ball colours

and a rainbow effect

 All currently available in my not on the street store here

Kitchen Organizing

I for some reason went to get something out of the cupboard and ended up clearing them out, cleaning them and moving them around!
The baking cupboard had always been in the small unit but after trying to get it all back in after using my glass jars as storage for flour etc I just couldnt squidge it all back in there!

So I moved it all to the larger unit and things are much happier now, I still have a way to go as need more storage jars but everything in that cupboard I use, so no wastage there

I have to share my new gadget love! I got this tala sugar shaker with some christmas money, I also picked up the flour sifter, sigh x

Little jobs like this coming out right make me a happy bunny

Valentine Love

I like valentines as in all honesty I always tell my boys and my partner how much I love them but a day dedicated to it makes it even more special

 

 

 I got a special cake each for the boys from the pantry next door to our little shop

Coffee anyone...

I finally made a batch of these cute little coffee cup pin cushions

I got the pattern from here, your not able to sell the creations from the patterns online which is fair enough but she did give me permission to sell them in my little shop and at craft events x

Little man full of humour

Our little man is so funny, he certainly has his fathers quick wit which leaves us in histerics sometimes

He decided he was tired so dragged all the bedding downstairs and snuggled up (well it is the school holidays)

He's always drawing, so no matter how many times I pick up the papers thrown all over the room I turn around and theres another pile for me!

He loves and I mean loves his food, at a recent birthday party he devoured the lot, eating the icecream half way through the meal! then going back to the sausages for afters! very odd!

 They grow up soooo quickly! each moment is precious x
