New Resident!

We have a new resident in our house!
Now it looks like we've waited for daddy to go on his motorcycle tour but we didnt honest!
Meet George

George has settled in really well and I have to say I am smitten, I love his white coat and his cute little face, Riley is super happy to have him as his pet and constantly checks to see if he's okay

 We havent handled George just yet as we are letting him settle into his new home, he's now been moved to Rileys bedroom with some adaptations to his cage! I'm quite certain updates of George may well appear on here for a while!

Peg Dolls

The next challenge us girls gave ourselves after the fat quater one was peg dolls, design and do what you like as long as it was a peg wooden doll!
Well to use up my craft stash I decided to use these wooden dolls that i've had for a few years, I'd already kind of painted something rubbish on them so I gave them two coats of a neutral paint to take them back to basics first!

My idea was to design little animals, i'm quite smitten with them, please meet

I called our fabulous pooch to take a sweet photo as I love how his legs hang over the edge of the sofa arm and this is what I got!

Monday Monday

Carrying on from last week I've managed to donate lots of toys and clothes to charity, school, friends and the tip! I still have a few more to go through which are to be sold on which will contribute towards decorating their rooms
I mowed the lawn and in return got sunburnt and green shoes! and its rained daily since!

So whats this week all about then

The shuffle continues, only a few more items to move and then a bit of setting up and i'm in! Will be able to share what the shuffling has been going on!

The pooch is at the groomers today

My babe is working away but then coming home early as setting up for his first bike tour!

Spending every last minute I can to finish our shops website!  Hoping its going to be launched today or tomorrow, this has taken up lots of my time so I hope its worth it!

Meeting with friends to discuss websites, graphic design and general catch up chit chat

Crocheting a cutie from a pattern that I've had for a while, this will deserve a post all of its own!

The Moggies

They are everything to me, they are getting on a little, 15 human years to be precise and I cant imagine life without them, they have always been together, they are brothers after all, they are always there for a cuddle and laugh when I need them most
Louie purrs so loudly when he cuddles up to you x

 They eat sleep and play together

 Gizmo likes to drink out the pond!

 and Apollo makes me laugh so much with his hangy out tongue and stuck up attitude, he is top cat after all! always has been

Sorting!

I've secretly been sorting out my new studio space, but had to stop and play with buttons for a moment of course!

See that open doorway! thats my space that is! I'll share more once I'm moved in and settled

I've managed to stick to my home plan and so far I've recycled 4 large bags to the local charity shop and some to school and some to a friend - makes me feel good recycling rather than just tipping (as lots of people still do!)

In the evenings this week I've started on a personal crochet project, its a pattern I bought some time ago and its to make something super super cute, I'm loving the wools I'm using too

 The pooch is my constant companion, always by my side, bless him

Market Day

Market Day was at the weekend and we had some lovely stalls as always
The Cookie Box - Becky always makes the best cakes, I'm helping her create a new website soon too

 Georgie Girl Jewellery - Jackie is always so lovely and her jewellery is just the same

 Cherry Orchard Treats - I love their soaps but these bath bags are the best

 Dab and a Dash - I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lornas journals are just the best, her style just keeps evolving its so exciting been her friend and been able to see her new makes

 Bloomin Fab - fun wooden signs

 Charlotte Hupfield Ceramics - I bought some of those plant markers at the top and some other gifts after rummaging through her button and magnet basket

 Kate - fun makes with cute and vintage fabrics

 and me ... Quirky Boots

Although it was much quieter than normal a fun day was had by all x

Mess Mess

Mess everywhere!
Is it just boys that have messy rooms! I'm sure I wasnt messy! Infact i'm sure it was pretty spotless!
The boys room has just got to a nightmare state, it hasnt mattered how much I've gone on at them, or cleared it, nothing works! so at the weekend when a toy box got broken I'll be honest I lost it! The boys were sent downstairs with sorry looks on their faces and I set to work!
To say they were shocked when they came back up is an understatement!

Everything was stripped back bare!
Everything! Its all gone! all the toys are now in the small spare room whilst I sort out what goes back (if any at all!)
Its given me a chance to re look at what they actually use!
The eldest will have the small room once its decorated but it will be very minimal!

I spent half the day in there! everyone left me alone whilst I muttered away, but it feels so much better walking in there now!
This is going to be the littlest ones bedroom so is due to be decorated in a theme, cant wait! but again it will be minimal!!!! I'm not going through this again lol

New shop displays!

We've had a little change around in the shop this week, a new small dresser has been added as we were in desperate need of more pretty but functional display space

The two small expedit units have been put on top of each other, and in all honesty look so much better

We have a new wall of art which I totally love and will always look different as signs are replaced

 We love how the shop is evolving x

Blooming Peony

I love Peonys and we have one in such an odd place in the garden! It was already here when we moved in
I've been watching it for a couple of weeks to see it bloom

and now - its gone! already - so short lived but oh so pretty!

Monday Monday

As you well know from a previous post, Monday didnt really exist last week as I was catching up from the week before!
So the week ahead 'hopefully' consists of ...

Shuffling - shelving from one space to another! all will be revealed very soon!

Decluttering - I've got 'alot' to go to the tip, charity and friends (I'll tell you the reason behind the biggest declutter ever very soon!)

Creating - apart from keeping orders up to date, I feel like i'm having a bit of a rebrand with my little business, so new collectable designs are currently been worked on!

Freshening up the grass! I'm hoping for sunshine for a few days so I can mow the lawns and get some plants in the ground and in  pots that have been lying around

Playing - its me and the boys this week so keeping them occupied and me less stressed is a must, inside and outside activities need to be considered due to our weather been on and off at the moment!

Relaxing -  In the evening when the boys are in bed, some time by the pond with my other boys (the moggies) always always destresses me

It doesnt look like much of a week but my goodness when I really look at the to do/want to do list its pretty ginormous!

Monster Fun

Thankfully someone who I now call a lovely friend knits her own design monsters, there fabulous, and we sell them in our little shop, each little monster has the date of birth and a fun name
I mean how can you not love cupid for starters!

So it was another friends birthday and she is a huge fan of Keeleys work and has a fair few of her monsters already, but I cheekily spoke to Keeley and asked her to create a custom birthday monster for me, with the birth name of Aunty Mental (as thats what my boys call her) my guidlelines were grey hair and glasses!
I nearly pee'd my pants when I saw it, lol, its sooo Aunty Mental lol

The numpty that I am, I so forgot to get a photo before I gave the gift away but funnily enough, been mental and all that, she took it to school so I grabbed a couple of her photos to share!

All of the teachers agreed its very much like her indeed lol

well...

I truly dont know where this week has gone!
I think I've been recovering from last week! My little one had vacant seizures all week so it was very tiring for both of us, he's still not diagnosed with epilepsy so I spent most of last week on the phone chasing consultants and quite literally leaving a tearful begging call to one to call me back! I had him with me one of the days in the shop (so helpful been my own boss) we worked great as a team when I dropped a large box of packaging!

Today we're at the gp again as we've noticed his pupils are unequal sizes, bless him he really is going through it at the moment
We got through it though and this week has just been about catching up, getting him to school in a happy mood and then me catching up with house and home and quirkyboots orders

I arranged another craft destash which happened this week, went down well again so cant wait to host another one later in the year
Suzanne Hearts n Kisses always has such gorgeous makes so it was great to see what she had to sell, I bagged a few gorgeous fabrics to create some fun cushions for home!

I've also been in my shop for a few days this week as we've had a shuffle around with new and old furniture and new display ideas

My big boy came home as a superstar so that ended the week of school on a high :) 

Tomorrow is market day so I'm getting my goodies together as I have a stall, well I'm calling it a rather large sale table, as its items I wont be making anymore so goodies need to go

Such a Deer!

My lovely friend is as deer mad as I am
It was her birthday this week so I got creating to make her a special fun gift
Today she popped by the shop and we had a birthday picnic with another friend

I'll admit after following the pattern I was surprised how big it was!

I think she liked it :)
