A time to remember

This weekend saw me and my lovely friend set off to Milton Keynes to see a show that we've been counting down the sleeps for!
We started our evening by ploughing our way through so much food at RED HOT
Off to the theatre we went to see our show Priscilla Queen of the Desert
The show was totally amazing, so much fun, so much laughter, so many songs and I knew all of them - totally totally amazing, its a must see - and if your a Jason Donovan fan obviously go when he's playing Mitzi, you wont be disappointed!
A night at the local travel lodge was on the cards to chill out! More laughter until sleep took over
All ready for a day at Ikea on the Sunday, a large breakfast to keep us going and then very excitedly (well me anyways) skipped around at all the loveliness that is Ikea

Friday 24 January 2014

So far this week my daily motto is

is it because its the time of the tax return!
is it because im feeling more emotional than ever!
is it because january is quite possibly the worst month ever financially and we're feeling it!
is it because in retail its as slow as a snail trying to do the london marathon!
or is it because im letting each day be stressful by not organising myself better!
who knows!!!

Painting with Annie Sloan

Ok not 'the' Annie Sloan just her paint!
I went on a furniture painting session at a quaint little shop called My Little Vintage in Earls Barton which is really close to home! excuse the human mannequin ;)
Me and my friend Libby geared ourselves up for a fun filled day of been taught different techniques on how to paint furniture, this is something i've been wanting to do for some time as I have some little bits here and there I want to paint up for the shop and sell on!
Who knows a whole new line for Quirky Boots!

As we were told to take along something small I took this little box, I thought it would be a good practise piece as it has grooves and lots of little edges
It started off life looking like this! a little plain and painted here and there
I had to leave my little cabinet there as I had the school run to do so I will be finishing it off next week so hopefully i'll be able to share with you my finished little cabinet!

Julia who owns the shop is just so sweet and lovely I cant wait to pop by there again
Whilst there I thought i'd take some photos of the shop, heres a peek, into the cuteness of the shop
I took along some lunch for us (as I'm on a healthy eating quest at the moment) of lemon and coriander cous cous and fresh salmon with added red pepper with home baked savoury cheese and onion muffins, which I'd made so many of everyone had a muffin too

Minecraft Birthday Boy

This week saw our little ones birthday too, eeek, why are both our boys birthdays in the worst possible month of the year!
Anyways Riley is totally into Minecraft at the moment so again I attempted a themed cake!
The chosen destination by a 7 year old for dinner!
Riley really has had a tough 12 months with so many visits to hospital about his possible epilepsy and behaviour issues! but he is such a delight to be around, even when he is moody he is cute and funny
He's come so far with his speech therapy and learning levels at school, we're so super proud of him
