Craft Destash

After running a few craft destash events last year and knowing how popular they were becoming, I've set up a few dates for this year too, but this time on a Sunday afternoon which seems to be an ideal day as the first event was this weekend and it turned out to be super super busy - phew
(I always panic in case I havent done enough to get people through the door)
I run these events as its a great way to declutter yourself of craft supplies that you no longer use and want and to refuel a new hobby you may have started

I was quite reserved this time around by buying only a few things! some large frosted bags for my shop as bags are always a must for sales, I shared a large box of scrapbooking goodies with a friend and the rest out of the box that we didnt want will be donated to school for the kiddies to use, and I got a few magazines etc

I can relax for a few months now before the next one - phew

Easiest of Easiest Meals - Tuna Pasta

Tuna Pasta is such a favourite in this house, each time its different as I put a selection of peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, cheese, anything really that is in the fridge at the time, theres no weighing out, all done by eye and then EAT

Add tuna to a bowl (I use tuna in springwater as I really dont like the brine)
Add what salad you have in your fridge, today ours was red pepper and tomatoes
Add cooked pasta
Add mayonnaise (or salad cream if you prefer)
Add a doorstep of fresh granary bread with butter
and ENJOY

Cake Prop

My best seller is the cake buntings I make, which is fine online but when you try to explain to someone at an event or in the shop what they are, they dont quite get it sometimes
I've been on the look out for a cake prop for some time then one day I came up with the idea of asking Stephanie, the lovely lady who creates the ceramics in my shop if she can help

So armed with a few printouts, sketches, sizes she went off to see what she could come up with
To say I am happy beyond belief is an understatement! I mean look LOOK at what she created for me
Cannot thank Stephanie enough
Heres a link to her facebook page Ceramics by Stephanie Beasley
Very happily she sells in my shop also The Gift Box

I won

Theres always so many giveaways going on in the social network world that I rarely bother to take part as a) I dont particularly want the item b) I just cant be bothered to have it posted on my feed wall

But - when the oppurtunity came along to win a fabulous make by The Fox in the Attic I had to give it a go
How excited was I to find out I'd won the Easter Bunny :)
She'll proudly be displayed in my new office when its finished (another very large project on the list)

Heres some links to The Fox in the Attic - do pop by and see what else she creates because there super fabulous

Rubbish into Storage!

Oh my goodness, since we re done our kitchen, our under sink storage has never been the same! Due to having more piping underneath it meant I lost the shelf! Now you'd think this wouldnt be a huge problem, but honestly its a nightmare!
On my recent trip to Ikea, I got told about these Variera shelves and oh my goodness my life and cupboard situation has changed!

As you can see I recycle where I can for containers, the washing tablets I use are perfect for storage for batteries, tealights etc As for that gap, thats a cat food shop that needs doing!
All I can say is, I need to go back and buy more, many many more!!!
Thank you IKEA

I've had so many projects on the back burner whilst making sure The Warkton Pantry opens okay and my shop is running along just nicely that I feel I've let myself down, and totally stopped creating which is what started everything in the first place

So I got my ideas book out, got my 'projects on the go' box out and took them home from the studio at the weekend to work on

I've still got a stash of gorgeous and cute scrapbook paper that I just couldnt part with so I've chomped into them and made some fun little cards
I've wanted to make some number cards for ages so decided to incorporate my love of felt and I've come up with these! just need to add them to cards now
I've made a felt apple for teachers for a few years now, so this time around I thought i'd change it for a crochet one, super cute with eyes and a wavy leaf
I managed to complete them all, super happy, i'll sort the next box of projects out to get finished now i'm on a roll x

St Patricks Day

I use to celebrate this day with friends when I was younger and lived in Birmingham but its not something I do nowadays, but to all those that do, enjoy, have fun and be safe

We spent time at the weekend finishing off some spaces in our home by hanging up some much needed artwork and accessories. The Koi clock is from my shop and created by this talented lady

Its been a week of busy here there and everywhere!
Our first lot of workshops were in the studio by the lovely and talented Lindsay from Evajeanie, an introduction to english patchwork, there was a hive of activity and fabric snippings here and there, it was brilliant and we cant wait for the next workshop instalments
I popped along to the MK Vintage and Handmade Fair to support my lovely friend and studio partner Debbie from Daisysyard her stall looked lovely and those hares were flying off the table!
I also went along for a peep to gain some inspiration for my shop and some events I'm booked into this year
I always love going to see Suzanne from Hearts n Kisses as her stall is always a blessing of prettiness, I dont know how she does it but its just truly amazing
I totally loved this bucket of hearts idea and i've already messaged her asking if I can steal it as inspiration for my shop, of course she was too lovely and said of course :)
I've seen these large hooks before and they are just amazing, I love them
The shop has had some amazing new ceramic gifts in one of which is this terracotta chicken bowl, super lovely
The pooch had a haircut so feels better in himself, honestly he does! he just always looks sad, bless his furry little socks
