Painting with Annie Sloan

Ok not 'the' Annie Sloan just her paint!
I went on a furniture painting session at a quaint little shop called My Little Vintage in Earls Barton which is really close to home! excuse the human mannequin ;)
Me and my friend Libby geared ourselves up for a fun filled day of been taught different techniques on how to paint furniture, this is something i've been wanting to do for some time as I have some little bits here and there I want to paint up for the shop and sell on!
Who knows a whole new line for Quirky Boots!

As we were told to take along something small I took this little box, I thought it would be a good practise piece as it has grooves and lots of little edges
It started off life looking like this! a little plain and painted here and there
I had to leave my little cabinet there as I had the school run to do so I will be finishing it off next week so hopefully i'll be able to share with you my finished little cabinet!

Julia who owns the shop is just so sweet and lovely I cant wait to pop by there again
Whilst there I thought i'd take some photos of the shop, heres a peek, into the cuteness of the shop
I took along some lunch for us (as I'm on a healthy eating quest at the moment) of lemon and coriander cous cous and fresh salmon with added red pepper with home baked savoury cheese and onion muffins, which I'd made so many of everyone had a muffin too

  1. What's funny is that before 11am yesterday, I hadn't heard of Annie Sloan. Then I met a friend for coffee and she was telling me how shed found this amazing paint! Then I come home to find people on Instagram singing it's virtue, next I see a completion to win some paints. And then last night my favourite little shop I go to for classes, sent through an email about a class using her paints ... And now you :) funny how things work. Looks like you had a great time. I may well do a class now too I think
