Failing Mum Article

This evening I read a wonderful article
It really made me sit here for a moment and realise I'm really not alone in feeling like a failure as a Mum, Partner and Friend

If you manage to spare yourself 10 minutes do read this, I loved it and to be honest I love Rachels blog too

The Woolies

Today was my weekly The Woolies meet up, I'm teaching a few friends how to crochet, or I'm trying too, I'm not the best myself but will help anyone where I can
Over time I've found some great sites that have helped me, but by far the best two are

This particular link to Aesthetic Nest shows you the basic crochet stitches in great photo detail
This particular link to Craft Passion shows you the basic granny square in great photo detail too
So if your just starting out to crochet, try these links yourself, they are in american terms which is what I taught myself, so go enjoy and create x

Market Day

This weekend was our monthly market day, we had an array of wonderful stalls
I had to step in with some Gift Box shop goodies as we had someone not turn up, thankfully I run a wonderful handmade shop full of goodies that managed to cover a table
Heres a peek at some of the goodies

The most fun part was a friend has recently had a baby and she paid her first visit to the market, I couldnt help but have a cuddle, welcome to the world baby Maria x
You can see more photos here at our market facebook page

Aprons...

I'm sooo happy i've actually used a sewing machine and created some cute aprons using pillowcases, I've been wanting to do this for ages, and now they are here
There perfect for us crafters at events we attend with our wares or even for the house or gardening, the possibilities are endless

They are for sale in my shop for £12.50 but can be posted out for £3.50 if anyone is interested :) x

jam packed

Although this post has absolute nothing to do with jam its how my week feels ! totally jam packed
I'm in the shop all this week and at the weekend I have our Monthly Craft Market and I've moved my Monthly Craft Group to the Sunday following it, so no stopping for me until next tuesday!

On Monday I started up a local Woolies group, where knitters and crocheters can get together and finish projects and learn, it was lovely so thats my Mondays during term time whilst the boys are at school, all worth it though to meet up and chat with other Woolies x
To top it off I've either got the starts of a cold or awful hayfever I cant quite decide...

Tuesday 11 September 2012

I shared my little booth at the milton keynes event with my lovely friend Michelle whos business is called Button it, we are a super team as we also run the monthly craft market together so I thought I'd share her goodies too

Also we were super lucky as sitting behind us was Lindsay from Evajeanie and her husband Tony from Squarepear furniture, we met them through the market but they also have shops on Not on the High Street as well, Tony won an award this year and Lindsay was shortlisted as well, how super is that.

This weekend I've been at the Milton Keynes Vintage and Handmade event, two days of spending time with quality fun friends and selling a few of my creations

I can now start to relax a little, get a few more things organised at home, work and in my studio and stop stressing about having enough things for sale x

Fabric Charm Packs

I've had a pretty charm pack of fabric for over a year, I bought it cause I loved the patterns and colours but to be honest I'm only just getting into fabric so dont really know what i'm doing with it!
Using my friends sewing machine (as mine badly needs a service) I joined them all together and firstly made myself a pretty pin cushion

Which then went on to me creating half of them into more pretty pin cushions

and the rest into pretty lavender bags
I'll be taking these with me to the Milton Keynes event at the weekend, after sorting through all my creations so far I've found that my stall is hopefully going to be very colourful with a real mixture of pretties - its super exciting too as I'm sharing with my market partner in crime Michelle and her button it creations

Monday 3 September 2012

Whilst away we had a few days out, just walking and relaxing and taking a break from it all
In Sheringham Riley was taken with the different colours of the beach huts

and I really loved these fun designs on the walls
In Yarmouth this guy was great
We went to Westcott in the evening after a meal as the beach is lovely there
Jack thinks Bolt is awesome!
Gorgeous viewpoint scenery
The boys tree climbed when they could
and in Sheringham country park we climbed alot of these, in fact alot more than we bargained for!
The pooch loved his days out too x

Book Bag

Not the kind for the boys to take to school, this ones just for me
Whilst at our market last month we had a lovely new stall called kate McKeown her fabric makes were super pretty as lots of them used vintage fabrics
I couldnt resist this gorgeous book bag
Whilst on holiday it carried my reading book but now houses my rather chunky diary
One of my favourite buys so far this year

Saturday 1 September 2012
