Vanessa Cabban - RIP

It hit me with such huge sadness that one of the bloggers I have followed for many years has passed away
Taken so tragically and sudden!
My heart goes out to her family and close friends at this time

Book Review - Daughter

This book quite literally had me hooked from the first page, as its states it is Utterly Gripping
I was moved in so many way, laughter, happiness, sadness and sheer blubbing
I dreamt about this book, alot, I put myself in the mothers shoes and the more I read the more I understood her
I cannot tell you anything as it will totally spoil it for you, other than yes a daughter goes missing, imagine how that would make you feel!

This is a must must read and a fabulous addition to anyones bookcase

I am no journalist or major book geek so I will say it how it is in my own words! picture a brummie living in Northamptonshire with her accent gone but always comes back when she is excited, drank too much (very rare) or cross (also rare)

I love it, I'm bias but I do I love it
Up there, yep up there on the pages bar you'll notice a few new things!

2015 - basically a list of goals I'd like us as a family and myself personally to achieve

Tudor House - my gorgeous vintage dolls house which I have so many plans for, its a long term project that is going to take some time and most certainly money to complete so I really wanted to document her journey (yes I've decided the house is a she!)

Christmas Cheer... Tree

... is around the corner, I'm a little excited about decorating the house this year, I mean I'm excited every year but after our fabulous trip away and seeing all the lights and christmas spirit I couldnt wait to come home and throw christmas cheer around the house

Starting with the living room we got our gorgeous real tree from a local nursery, all the decorations came out of the loft and the oohing began as I always forget what treats are inside the boxes
The fireplace has had a festive makeover too, its so calming when its the evening and all the lights are twinkling, we love it

Christmas Cheer - Night Out

I actually went out! Its a rare thing for me but I so enjoyed it
In the courtyard at Warkton where my workshop and the pantry is we decided a few months ago to all go out, there was 8 of us in total and it was great to see each other out of the work fun courytard environment

We went to The Swan at Braybrooke and oh my goodness is was amazing, the food was delicious, the service was great, the company was fantastic too
It was also Christmas Jumper Friday so I wore my festive inspired top which I got from New York
We'll certainly be having more outings but I cant wait to revisit The Swan too

Whilst in New York - One must Marry!!!!

Yep we did it!
We got married, in New York City

There wasnt much planning, its something we've spoken of doing for a few years now, but two weeks before we left for New York, he said shall we marry there, we looked into it, was super easy, so we did it
I was unsure as the boys wouldnt be there but I spoke to them first and they were happy
We've planned on a photoshoot on returning home and a party in the New Year to let family and friends celebrate with us
No fuss, No stress, just fun and smiles the whole day, we found a bar afterwards and enjoyed a cocktail or two
Luckily my niece is studying over there and was our witness for the day and photographer, this is the wedding party on the subway on the way to City Hall
In the evening we made our day even more special by seeing New York by nightlight from the observation deck on the Empire States Building - a true dream come true and I was quite emotional for a moment or two

I'm now Mrs Young and so so so so very happy

New York New York

Soooo jet lagged....

But Oh My Goodness I'm still on a high after our trip to New York, we returned home on Saturday afternoon to two very excited boys and an overly excited pooch
New York was amazing, I doubt I can put into words the experience
Everything just everything was a dream, like in the movies!
I fell in LOVE with the place and am already dreaming of when we can go back!
We were proper tourists, we walked our butts off! we pounded them sidewalks and subways until we were exhausted
We went on movie tours, movie sightseeing, saw the 911 memorial, world one trade centre, American natural history museum, Time Square, Empire States Building, American diners, Hard Rock Cafe, Central Park Zoo, Central Park, the BIG piano, Tiffanys, rode in a yellow cab, Macys department store, met up with my neice who is studying over there, Wall Street
Thank goodness for my iphone, its all I used for photographs, so i'm pretty pleased with what I got
So much walking and our metro pass on the subways was well used!
If someone offered me a ticket to go back tomorrow, I would run to the airport!!!
I LOVE NEW YORK!
