sweet deer journal

I've been after one of Lornas journals for ages, and to be honest i've had my eye on this one secretly from afar, then because I'd had a good amount of orders the other week I decided to treat myself

Lornas journals are always created with such joy, you can see the love that has gone into making each one, the majority of her journals are using upcycled materials too which is always a bonus
I dont quite know what I'll use my journal for but in the meantime it looks super pretty on my desk

Check out more of Dab and a Dashs journal here in her folksy store and you can follow her blog here too

I have another of her journals but thats for a surprise so I'll have to share that with you another time.

Updates from our garden

Some pretties are really coming out now, and to add to the pleasure we finally have a fence, so a boundry and privacy all in one :) its surprising how much I totally love our fence :) x

so

what has gone on with us whilst I've left my blog absent
we had our monthly market which was lovely as always
i made a cake topper for a wonderful friend of mine who is starting her cake business 'sweet obessions bakery' in the norwich area, the cake is just divine isnt it
i had my monthly craft group which i just love, ruth made this delicious cake
and i made some fun zombies for a little boys birthday
talking of little boys, after our scare at the beginning of the week our little man is very much back to himself (tests still to be had but we're super happy with how bouncy he is again)
Hopefully back to normal now, well once the kitchen is refitted that is! more on that another day...

Friday 25 May 2012

I am here, but my little one was in hospital earlier on in the week so it was a worrying time for us, we're still awaiting further test results but wont get these for quite some weeks! He's okay now but as you can imagine my mind has been elsewhere.
To keep us occupied we've been busy adding an important feature to our garden! and brick dust is settling in the house again! Will share once I'm mentally ready, or at least got over this week, rested and feel back in the land of awakedom

Have a beautiful sunny weekend x

my feet are up!

I'm relaxing this evening after a long day at the market, it does make my feet and back ache standing up all day, although I did manage to squeeze in a couple of sit downs today but not for long.
Whilst i'm updating photos of today to share, I have my feet up, my man grannie on the go! and a super pretty cupcake to keep me company :)

Cauldron of Chives!

When we moved here I found this cauldron pot in the garden and knew at some point I'd do something with it
My friend gave me a pot of chives recently and knew straight away where I wanted to plant them, what I wasnt expecting was a huge hole!
I worked around this by buying a hanging planet basket liner (cheap as chips from tesco for 87p)
I did the job so I could get filling with compost without losing any out of the bottom
Love it, cant wait for the chives to grow more and fill the pot :)
On another note, I've planted so many lettuce in one go I hope my friends want some too

Crafted Bras!

My slimming world consultant was doing the midnight walk for the breast cancer charity at the weekend where everyone wears a decorated bra, so I volunteered to create one for her
Alot of love went into this, all handcut flowers and hand stitched in place

She liked it a lot so I was super happy, she also managed to complete the 26 mile walk in under 8 hours which is fantastic x
I thought i'd start the week off with some pretties x

Last week I picked up this pretty little cupcake holder, its currently home for my pears though
I love the texture of pears, in fact there currently my favourite fruit

unravelling

Amongst the disarray that our garden currently is, I keep dreaming of how it will be, whilst I continue to dream and dig the pretty fern is unravelling

and the hosta is unravelling too - i love hosta flowers there so pretty

I have lots of plans for the garden starting with someone edging it all for me and digging out my veg plot so I can just crack on with it, hows your garden growing x

Adventure Time - Finn

A friend asked if I was able to create something Finn related from Adventure Time for her Finn mad daughter
Heres what I came up with, everything is hand stitched, I found a few different tutorials on you tube but I still had to alter them a lot as I wasnt happy with the backpack finish so I kind of made my own design with the finish on that
Finns Hat
and I added in a cake topper as a gift which can also double up as a puppet :)
I've been assured she loved it all x

Pear Surprise

I baked some yummy cakes - the boys were surprised when they started eating them

Here they are sprinkled with a touch of cinnamon
and heres the surprise, fresh pears cut up and in the bottom of the case - super yummy

Splatters

Rona and I have been busy down the shop today painting the furniture we've acquired, but it needs a little updating to fit in with the theme we're aiming for
These are the before photos
I'll update and share the during and after photos as they are completed, you can follow our journey here on facebook too

At the moment I feel so privileged to be able to 'work' within a crafts environment, I finally feel like parts of my life are falling into place x
