RD Challenge week 40

My full reveal for our Rosie Dee's Pink and Lime Challenge last weekend, I used some Lawrence Llewyn Bowen papers, which I have to say are the best ones out of the pack, I have no idea what to use the other ones for! as they are a tad dire.It seemed fitting to use the papers and the autograph together hehe, the lovely Claire and Steph managed to get his autograph for me from the NEC :) So thank you very much ladies hehehe

Remember to tune into Rosie Dee's Sunday night at 6pm, and this week we have our fantastic new Design Team with us :) Cannot wait to see their creations xx

Humf

This flu bug has really dragged me down :( I feel awful, I'm left with a barking cough and tight chest and i'm totally shattered.
Trying to keep on top of things at home is hard, I have a mini burst of energy and then spend double that time recuperating :(
This is what happens though when you let your toddler make a jam sandwich

I used one of my favourite photos of all time of Jack and scrapped that.I remember when I took the photo because I loved how his feet were placed :) Aww baby memories are just the best :)
I used the gorgeous Little Sprout crate papers and I'm just loving them I also bought the Orbit Collection too and think they are going to make great album papers for my boys :)

Street Wise

With thanks to a wonderful blog I've found some fantastic free - yes free - tutorials and patterns for all sorts of crafts, if you do one thing today you must pop over to One Pretty Thing and check it out, its updated daily with so much inspiration.

I found this crafty calendar and all I had to do was print it, cut it and stick it and I think its rather fun :)
This is my favourite scene - the fair ground!

Sunshine

My card for the Quirky Crafts card challenge last Sunday was very bright and summery, Fe did a sketch I really enjoyed working withOrange and Lemon are such a great colour combo, the embossed cardstock are ones I received from Steph in the scrapbox she gave me. I cant wait to use my new Cuttlebug and emboss I think I'll be addicted for some time :)

Finally

I can read these!

Waterstones bookstore couldnt even order the Untamed book in! but they had stock of Hunted which is the book after! Very odd
I popped into WHSmith in the week and there it was :) I was a very happy bunny and can now finally crack on with what is happening in Zoe's very different life!

The House of Night series is brilliant, a very different take on the vampire world where humans know that they exist, and you are chosen by a 'mark' to become a vampire so then head off to 'The house of night school' ...

and I'll leave it there, a must read is all I can say

Turquoise and chocolate

that was the colour combo for Rosie Dee's challenge last Sunday.
I altered a white frame from Ikea with the coloursand I've since added a photo to it too :)
These plain white frames are so cheap and so easy to dress up from Ikea, you really should give it a go :)

Design Team Call

As your aware we are having a Design Team call over at Rosie Dee's
Well over at Quirky Crafts Forum we feel the need for some more designers to join us weekly in our card challenges also to show as much inspiration as we can possibly can.
The forum is new and small, so we need to get the message out there about us and the new Design Team.
Would you be interested in joining us, pop on over here and see all the details and spread the word.
Again sadly there is no cash or product benefit its all just for fun :)

New Cuttlebug Toy!

Woo hoo this landed through my door today

I was going to buy a second hand one off Ebay but I found this great deal here which was only a tenner more than a seconds one with free postage and extra dies :) **huge grin**

So I had a play and I love it :) like alot, we are going to be great friends hehehe

Buttons galore

For some time now I've being searching the net for vintage buttons! Do you know how much a job lot of these go for! Its ridiculous really! I've scoured the car boot and charity shops for them but everyone must have the same desire cause I just cannot find them, so I resorted to Ebay.
Some job lots of vintage buttons were going for over £30! with postage added on top!

Anyways I managed to bag myself some finally! Finally...
My dear sweet buddy Rosie popped over for coffee Friday night and I showed her my winnings and she was like 'oooh' and 'ahhhh' so we sat for at least a couple of hours! sorting them out into colours (I know sad arent we, but we do craft what do you expect!)
I have some amazing sets of gorgeous buttons which I can see being used on recycled wool brooches :) and there's going to be lots of bags and sets going in my Etsy store.
Rosie went home a tad happy too with a jar full of delicious buttons for all her help :)

Quirky Crafts Challenge 4

We're into week 4 already over on Quirky Crafts forum, and this week Fe has challenged us to a sketch, I really enjoyed making this one :) Very summery

Pop on over to see the other creations and join in :)

This is a photo heavy post of our day out at Sacrewell Farm the sun was shining hot which was great and we had a huge picnic to keep us nice and full :) Lots of walking around and interaction with feeding the animals:)
Jack enjoyed the tractor!
This little fella chased me after the food lol - umm I have a problem with ducks dont I (see here)
A gorgeous and very friendly Lincoln longwool and his name was Humby Kipling lol
The farm is also a Shire Horse Centre and just look at this beauty
The pigs were boring as they didnt come out to play but it was hot I suppose so I'll let them off ;)Riley's best part of the day (apart from lunch lol) was this
Their new baby calfs - awwwwwwwwwww
and Jacks sheep won the Lamb National and he won a creme egg :)
We came home to a smokin bbq! quite literally but we had a fun day :)

The Weekend!

This weekend is going to be a tough one as Daddy isnt here :( he's off doing a lad thing and quite possibly currently asleep snoring in a tent! at Donnington Park at the download festival!
So Mummy has to keep the troops in tow! Today is a weather permitting activity, now I have checked the forecast! (obviously this is England and can change within a second) so hopefully whilst you read this we are on our way to a lovely little place called Sacrewell Farm its not far from us at all and I've always to go, so i'll have the camera, picnic bag and Jack in one hand and Riley in the other and we'll have a great day out.
Sunday will hopefully see us having a gander around the car boot again! plants galore and a run around Wicksteed Park to burn off some energy so naps can be had before a mini Sunday dinner for us, umm, lol, I wonder Daddy will have for his sunday dinner, quite possibly a can of lager and a packet of crisps, we'll be thinking of him I'm sure whilst we eat ours - nah! lol
and of course visiting me buddy for a cuppa is certainly on my list :)
Hope to show you photos soon, have a great weekend and I hope the sun shines for you too.

Super Boy

I made a 'super' layout for a 'super boy'. The photos were taken whilst at Fermyn woods country park and Riley was lounging on one of the wooden benches :) I used the UKS kit from Indigo Mill, I replaced the purple bazzill cardstock with white and Rileys red jumper just didnt work with that! If you know what I mean

Some of these kits are still available here

BFF

I'm making a wicked mini book about me and my best buddy :) and its titled the things we do. We rarely go out and party (not at our age and the amount of kids we've got between us) so when we do we have a blast, and something 'always' ends up happening making it more memorable than maybe it should be :)
I'm going to keep the book the same shape but each night out is going to be a different colour to match the nights theme (hopefully) ;)

I've started with my buddies hen night! and it was very pink!!! What do you think!I used some grunge board wings for front cover and painted them with crackle paint (which I love) I'm certain (but because the book has being away from me for so long!! lol at indigo mill retreats) that its crate pattern papers (but please let me know if i'm wrong lol), candy drops (adore these), alpha rub ons, doodling and of course my fabby new tape writer ;)
I used green felt for the front page window and ribbons from stash also.
