New Toy!

I managed to grab myself a bargain on Ebay yesterday and could not believe it when it arrived by DHL courier at 7pm this evening!!!!!!!
I dont really use die cutting machines much, I got a bargain on a cuttlebug a little while ago and love it, especially for the embossing :)
I certainly dont have the funds to go spending hundreds on a cricut and similar so I got myself something that does just the job :)
I got my Xyron personal cutting machine with six books, five extra cutting mats and two extra blades all for £52!!!! All of the books and the extras were brand new and sealed! ~Dont you just love Ebay sometimes ~
So I've had some fun tonight cutting out tags and frames :) Will show you my creations this week :) hehehe Its like Christmas...

All Webbed up!

Here's a cute quick and easy card for you to make thats a little spooky - but not much ;) !!

I found a spiders web from google images and printed that out to use as my template. I placed this printed web on top of my cardstock at the angle I required it to be and where the lines joined I pierced a hole. Move the paper template away and then your left with lots of tiny holes (see simple so far)

Using my chosen colour thread (black and red) I embroidered the web design on my cardstock (this takes a little time but worth it in the end)
Using a black sharpie I drawed a line off the web and 8 legs and used a grey button for the spiders body
and 'BOO' :)
I'd love to know if you played along too :)

Blooming Lovely!

Steph sent a few of us an embellishment kit full of glittered and flocked doodlebug cardstock, with some added brads, accent beads, embroidery thread and much more :)
A handy little kit with which you can make quite a few bits with.

Here's mine for starters - just a few handy tags with touchy feely blooms :)

So much more kit left so i'll be popping back with more crafty goodness made with the kit very soon.

Dont forget to pop on over to Indigo Mill's new website to see all the gorgeous goodies they have on offer :)

Spooky

Thought I'd share a peek at my project for IACW which goes live tomorrow :)

Are you scared yet!!!

Check back soon as I have a blog tutorial for a spiderweb card!

A real Gem!

It still surprises me the amazing friendships I've made since crafting and blogging. When feeling a tad low there is always some one up at an untimely hour to chat too :)
I have many friends like that but I was so surprised last week when a jiffy bag fell through my door with all this inThe magazine is great and I will treasure that card forever, it truly is beautiful and as for the chocolate - guess what!

Actually you guessed wrong, its still in the box, I havent had the heart to open it yet :)

Thank you honey for thinking of me :) *hugs* x

Tick Tock!

Another trip after the school run into town today with a friend, and we had a rummage through a few charity shops (Kettering is full of them) and I found a few more bargains :)
I've always wanted one of these plastic bag holders but they are so expensive, but this was a bargain for £1.49!! and its brand new :) Another book each for the boys, some bags ready to fill up and that clock!
I fell in love with that little clock as soon as I saw it and my friend made me laugh as the first thing she said! 'your going to alter that arent you' my response 'well, yes i am' I'd like to add I said that very quickly and excitedly lol

Bargains to be had!

I got all this

for the bargain price of £3.20! The jigsaw is new and Riley is very into planes at the moment so he loves his new book, and those there book stands are for Rileys room :) I've being after some for ages but they cost a fortune! I was going to alter them but I think there fine as they are, until he gets a little older that is :)

Having another trip into town tomorrow, so probably more bargains to be had - fingers crossed.

Tuesday 22 September 2009

Ummmm

Its one of those days today, infact I'll go so far to say that its one of those months!!!! Hopefully September wont repeat itself.

Today I missed the allotment as I didnt feel too great this morning to be throwing a shovel around! I only have my bulb garden to plant and one more area to add green manure too and then I'm done for winter, bar harvesting my pumpkins and cabbages of course :)

I've made a new crochet coffee sleeve and new design felt coffee sleeve with a yummy felt stuffed strawberry which is good enough to eat :) but you cannot I hasten to add as it is lovingly handstitched onto a green wool felt sleeve, which is soon to be in my new one stop store
Everyday I'm doing a tad more to the garden, even if its just moving a spade from here to there, but its still sorting isnt it ;) We badly need to get a skip, which we are hopefully doing this weekend, fingers crossed.
Also today I baked some scrummy redcurrant cupcakes with frosting - ummmmm

Hope you had a good day x

Monday 21 September 2009

Sore Thumbs!

Wow they are sore, I've being doing a tad bit of crochet to get my new website updated with fun and new designs.
**throbbing throbbing!** lol
All worth it though :) coffee sleeves, phone covers, flowers :) wish I could crochet in my sleep, mind you I feel like I am cause its all I'm dreaming about! Sad or what... lol
Would show peeks but too dark now, you'll have to wait until tomorrow ;)
Other than that I was out in the garden today moving the rabbit hutches around as I wasnt happy with where they were and I was pulling this large hutch along all on my lonesome, please note I was pulling it along by the handle - now wait for it - yep the biggest most ginormous bigger than King Kong himself! Spider was right there, there I tell you on the blooming handle!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it was a proper big un!
I of course continued with the correct procedure - sat down with a cuppa on the garden chair until said hero of the hour returned from taking Wicket to the vets (who is doing really well but still cant have stitches out till next Monday!) to come and remove the said King Kong for me! :) My Hero...
Hope your enjoying your Monday evening :)

Sunday 20 September 2009

Simply cannot think of a title suitable for this post!

Its amazing how an evening with friends chit chatting and eating chinese can change so quickly!
Last night my best bud and her husband came over for just another normal night 'in' (In being the new out! lol)
Cazz had a headache and took two 'TWO' co-codamol at the beginning of the meal, within 30 mins an ambulance was on the way and I was talking to the 999 peeps confirming her status :( She had seriously started to become unresponsive and we were all pretty scared by that point.
The paramedics were brilliant, so calming, they administered the essential drugs to counteract the codeine and took her to hospital for further tests. Mark and I went with her, I felt like I was in a boat taking the trip in the ambulance with her! Whoa swayed way too much!!!!

Thankfully all is well but she now knows she is allergic to codeine - badly!

It hit me today as I really thought I was losing my best friend in front of me :(
She said she feels like she has a major hangover today and is in and out of bed still with her limbs going numb :( I took her flowers and chocolate cause thats what you do isnt it :)

Love you lots honey xxxx

Felt Heaven

I was feeling so inspired yesterday :)
I've made two big decisions, the first being I've closed my wedding website (although I'll still make wedding stationery for friends and family of course) and I'm turning it into a website where you'll find all my creations :)
I'll still continue with etsy and not on the high street as well of course.

Hopefully the new website will be up and running by next weekend, I cant wait :)

Tuesday 15 September 2009

Tel came in from work early this morning and asked if I'd heard the news, I hadnt of course so when he told me that Patrick Swayze had passed away, I gave him a few choice words and told him to grow up!!!

Until I saw it on the news myself and my eyes filled up and tears ran down my face!
What can you say? When you've never met someone personally but adore all the work they ever did on the big screen :( He will be surely missed by thousands, and a huge loss to his family :(

RIP and the line to be said on many lips for many more years to come!

Madness and Cheek!

What a day, firstly our pooch had a visit to the groomers yesterday and now looks a tad gorgeous
He also had a visit to the vets today due to a 'male' related problem! So he is back in again next week at a cost of £120!!!!! which will hopefully sort that 'problem' out.

The boys - ah - the boys, Jack came home from school today, I was quite impressed with myself as I'm up so early with Riley I decided to make tuna pasta salad for lunch including Jacks lunch box. His response upon coming home

'I didnt eat all my tuna Mummy I got a bit fed up with it' lmao! o k a y . . .

...and dear sweet beautiful Riley, can you see the shorter hair - sad isnt it - I think so :( but he decided to throw his nappy off in the garden which is fine as it was a nice warmish part of the day, but then promptly jumped on his battery car and started riding off down the garden! I had to catch it on camera, a very funny moment :)
*speech bubble for obvious reasons*
I have a date with a rake and lots of mud tomorrow morning ooh and some green manure :)
